Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How large of a job can your team handle?
A: No job is too large or too small. We've done large removal jobs where we'll arrive just after daylight and stay all day long; we also help individual homeowners with their everyday tree care needs. We have the equipment to handle the full spectrum of North Florida tree service.
Q: How do I know if my tree needs to be pruned?
A: Call us. One of our certified arborists will come out to take a look. It's wise to hire an arborist for this situation, because pruning can sometimes actually harm the tree.
Q: What can I expect in terms of service from AAA Tree Experts?
A: We're usually able to arrive and give an estimate by the next day. We always provide a written estimate and often complete the job within the week.

Q: Why hire an arborist?
Certified Arborists are individuals who have passed a comprehensive examination developed by some of the nation's leading experts on tree care.
Certification provides a measurable assessment of an individual's knowledge and competence required to provide proper tree care. Certified Arborists must also continue their education to maintain their certification. Therefore, they should be up-to-date on the latest techniques in arboriculture.
Hiring an arborist is a decision that should not be taken lightly. Proper tree care is an investment that can lead to substantial returns. Well-cared-for trees are attractive and can add considerable value to your property. Poorly maintained trees can be a significant liability. Pruning or removing trees, especially large trees, can be dangerous work. Tree work should be done only by those trained and equipped to work safely in trees.
An arborist can determine the type of pruning necessary to maintain or improve the health, appearance, and safety of trees.
Although tree removal is a last resort, there are circumstances when it is necessary. An arborist can help decide whether a tree should be removed. Arborists have the skills and equipment to safely and efficiently remove trees.
Q: Do I need a permit?
If you are in the city limits, or in Leon County, you may need to have a permit to have a tree trimmed or removed. The ordinance reads, "You cannot remove more than 25 percent of foliage of the tree in residential/commercial zoning. In residential zoning, if a tree is under 36 inches in diameter, you do not need a permit, unless you are in the Canopy Road zone." If you are in this zone, the ordinance is a lot more strict. For Commercial property zoning, the ordinance reads any tree 18 inches in diameter or larger, will need a permit. "Any tree 4 inches or larger on property line, cannot be removed in the city limits." There are other rules and regulations on the landscaping plans and the buffer zone of the property. AAA Tree Experts can help you in your permitting needs.
